CFO Advisory

The financial brain of a bigger company, at the size you are now

Forecasting, margin analysis, pricing and capital decisions — the work a full-time CFO would do, scaled to a business that does not need one full time.

Bookkeeping tells you what happened. This is about what happens next.

A profit and loss statement is a rear-view mirror. It is necessary, and it is not enough to decide whether you can afford a second location, whether that contract is priced correctly, or whether payroll clears in eleven weeks.

CFO advisory is the forward-looking half: a rolling forecast, a handful of metrics that genuinely predict your business, and a monthly conversation in which decisions actually get made.

What the engagement includes

A thirteen-week rolling cash flow forecast, an annual budget with monthly variance reporting, a KPI dashboard built from the drivers that matter in your industry, and unit-economics analysis so you know which jobs, products or customers actually earn money.

Around that: pricing reviews, break-even modelling, hiring and capital expenditure decisions, lender and investor packages, and scenario planning before big commitments rather than after.

Included

What you get

13-week cash flow forecast

Rolling, updated monthly. The single most useful report a small business can have and the one almost none of them run.

Annual budget & variance

A budget you helped build, then monthly reporting on where reality diverged and what to do about it.

KPI dashboard

Five to eight numbers that actually drive your business, tracked and trended — not a forty-metric report nobody opens.

Unit economics & pricing

Gross margin by job, product, customer or location, and what your prices would need to be to hit your target.

Lender & investor packages

Financial statements, projections and narrative prepared to the standard a bank or buyer expects.

Monthly advisory call

A scheduled hour with a senior advisor to work through the numbers and the decisions attached to them.

Why it matters

What changes for you

Decisions get made on evidence

Hiring, pricing, expansion and equipment decisions modelled before the commitment, not justified after it.

Cash surprises largely disappear

A rolling forecast turns a payroll crisis into a scheduling conversation eight weeks earlier.

Better conversations with lenders

Businesses that can present a forecast and a variance report borrow on better terms than businesses that cannot.

Tax planning that fits the plan

Because the same firm sees the forecast, tax strategy is built around where the business is going.

The process

How the engagement runs

01

Financial diagnostic

We examine the last two years, build the baseline model and identify where the money actually goes.

02

Build the instruments

Forecast, budget and dashboard constructed and agreed with you.

03

Monthly rhythm

Close, report, meet, decide. Every month, on a fixed calendar.

04

Strategic projects

Pricing reviews, expansion models, financing and exit preparation as they come up.

Questions

CFO Advisory, answered

Still not sure? Ask us directly — the first conversation costs nothing and we will tell you honestly whether this is what you need.

Bookkeeping produces accurate historical records — that is the input. CFO advisory uses those records to forecast, model decisions and set strategy. You need the first before the second is worth anything, which is why we usually want the books in order before starting.

Below roughly $20 million in revenue, almost never. A fractional engagement gives you senior judgement a few days a month at a fraction of the cost, and we will tell you candidly when you have outgrown it.

A fixed monthly fee scaled to the complexity of the business and the depth of the engagement. It is quoted after the diagnostic, so the number is based on your business rather than a package tier.

We prepare the financial package lenders expect and help you present it, and we can tell you before you apply whether the numbers are likely to support the request. We are not a broker and take no commission from any lender.

Business Formation & Entity Structuring

The entity you register and the way it is taxed are two separate decisions. Most people make only the first one, and pay for it every year afterwards.
