TM Tax Advisors is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible — including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, speech input or other assistive technology.

The standard we build to

This site is designed and built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Accessibility was part of how the site was built rather than something bolted on afterwards. We treat that standard as a target we hold ourselves to, and we would rather hear about a failure than assume there are none.

What we have actually done

• Semantic structure. Real HTML landmarks — header, navigation, main and footer — with one h1 per page and heading levels that descend in order, so a screen-reader user can move through a page by structure.
• A skip link. The first thing a keyboard user reaches on every page is a link that jumps straight past the navigation to the main content.
• Visible focus. Every focusable element has a clearly visible focus ring. We have not removed focus outlines anywhere.
• Keyboard operation. The navigation, the mobile menu, the accordions and the testimonial slider are all operable with a keyboard alone, with the expected keys, and nothing traps focus.
• Colour contrast. Body text, headings and interface colours are chosen to meet the Level AA contrast ratios — 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and interface components. Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
• Text that reflows. Type is set in relative units, and the layout reflows without loss of content or function at 200% zoom and down to a 320px viewport, so there is no two-directional scrolling.
• Reduced motion. Animation is subtle by default, and is switched off when your device or browser asks for reduced motion through prefers-reduced-motion.
• Forms. Every field has a visible label that is programmatically associated with it; required fields are marked in the markup as well as visually; and error messages are in text, tied to the field they belong to, rather than signalled by colour alone.
• Images. Every image carries alternative text, and purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology so they do not add noise.
• No accessibility overlay. We have deliberately not installed a third-party accessibility widget. Overlays frequently interfere with the assistive technology people already use and configure. We would rather build the site correctly.

Known limitations

We would rather name these than pretend they do not exist.

• The Google Maps embed on the contact page is a third-party component whose accessibility we do not control. The full street address, a directions link and the telephone number are given in text alongside it, so nothing is available only through the map.
• The TaxDome client portal is operated by a third party under its own accessibility practices. It sits outside this website and outside our control. If any part of the portal is a barrier for you, tell us and we will work with you another way — by telephone, by post or in person — so that the portal is never the only route to your own documents.
• Documents published by government agencies and linked from this site, such as IRS and Franchise Tax Board PDFs, are outside our control and may not be accessible.
• Some older articles may contain a table or a figure that is harder to follow with a screen reader than we would like. Point one out and we will fix it.

Visiting the office

Our office is at 1151 W 5th Street, Azusa, CA 91702. We have not had the building assessed against a formal accessibility standard, so rather than make claims we cannot stand behind, we would ask you to call ahead on (818) 806-8131 and tell us what you need — a parking space close to the door, a ground-floor meeting room, extra time, a companion or an interpreter — and we will make the arrangements before you arrive.

No service we offer is available only in person or only through this website. We work by telephone, by video, by post and through the client portal, and we will always find a route that works for you.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and to tell you at that point either that it is fixed or when it will be.
