Privacy Policy

What information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Written to be read, not to be skipped.

Last updated: September 2026

T&M Business Advisors, LLC, trading as TM Tax Advisors ("we", "us", "our"), operates https://www.tmtaxadvisors.com. We take the confidentiality of client information seriously — it is both a professional obligation and a legal one for a tax practice.

Who we are

T&M Business Advisors, LLC 1151 W 5th Street, Azusa, CA 91702 Telephone: (818) 806-8131 Email: info@tmtaxadvisors.com

Information we collect

Information you give us directly. When you complete a form on this website, email us or call us, we collect the information you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, telephone number, business type and a description of what you need help with.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our host records standard server log information: IP address, browser type, pages requested and referring page. This is used for security and to understand which pages are useful. If analytics are enabled, a cookie banner will appear and you can decline non-essential cookies.

Client information. Once you engage us, we collect the financial and identifying information necessary to perform the services you have retained us for. That information is governed by our engagement letter and by the confidentiality rules that apply to tax professionals, not by this website policy alone.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or marketing networks. We do not use information submitted through this website to build advertising profiles.

How we use information

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation
  • To provide the professional services you engage us for
  • To send appointment reminders and service messages, where you have asked us to
  • To comply with our legal, regulatory and professional obligations
  • To protect the security and integrity of our systems

Disclosure of tax return information

Federal law, specifically Internal Revenue Code section 7216, restricts how tax return preparers may use or disclose tax return information. We do not disclose your tax return information to any third party for any purpose other than preparing or assisting in preparing your return, unless you give us specific written consent or the law requires the disclosure.

Service providers

We use a small number of vetted providers to operate the practice — including our client portal (TaxDome), accounting and payroll platforms, website hosting and email. Each has access only to what it needs to perform its function, and each is bound by confidentiality obligations.

Data security

We maintain a written information security programme as required of tax professionals under the FTC Safeguards Rule and IRS Publication 4557. In practice that means: documents are exchanged through an encrypted client portal rather than email, access is limited to the team members working on your engagement, multi-factor authentication is used on our systems, and we review our controls regularly.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affected your information, we would notify you as required by California law.

Text messages

If you opt in to text messages we will use your number only to send appointment reminders and service messages related to your engagement. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. We never sell or share mobile numbers, and mobile opt-in data is never shared with third parties for marketing.

Cookies

This site uses only the cookies needed to make it work, plus — if and when analytics are enabled — analytics cookies that you can decline through the banner. Your choice is stored in your own browser. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings at any time; the site will continue to work.

Your rights under California law

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you and how it is used
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to our legal and professional retention obligations
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share it
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

To exercise any of these rights, email info@tmtaxadvisors.com or call (818) 806-8131. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframes the law requires.

Note that records relating to tax preparation and representation are subject to retention requirements that may prevent us from deleting some information on request.

Retention

We keep client records for as long as required by professional standards, our engagement letter and applicable law — generally at least seven years for tax records. Enquiries that do not result in an engagement are kept only as long as needed to respond.

Children

This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing clients will be communicated directly.
